spring at meadowlark gardens

Thursday, May 8:  It won’t be long before summer is upon us, so I thought I’d better drop by Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna to see the spring blooms.  Here’s a little of what I found.

  1. It’s gorgeous, Cathy, isn’t it? 🙂 Amazed by how many of the same flowers we share. And sunshine, too! I’m sitting in the garden with my laptop (in the shade so I can see). It’s going to run out of battery any minute 🙂
Great pics! Have a lovely weekend.

    1. You probably have similar weather to ours, Jo, and maybe that’s why we have the same flowers. We have very wet springs and humid and wet summers, which makes for a lot of green and blossoms. I hope you had a lovely weekend too!

  2. You have made the most of spring time in Virginia, Cathy. Lovely gardens you have visited and just look at the diversity of flowers, ponds, statues, etc. you have shared with us….from formal gardens to meandering informal. Lovely. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Lynne. It’s fun to see all the gardens after living in a dry desert climate for two years. It’s been wonderful to see all the pretty blossoms and the abundance of green. On the other hand, I’m feeling a little trapped here at home and am suffering from some major wanderlust!!

    1. Thanks, Gilly. The gardens really are pretty right now, and the weather has been mostly perfect! I hope it stretches out for many more weeks before we’re hit with the summer heat and humidity. 🙂

      1. With two weeks until winter it’s getting cooler but still maximums of 19 – 20, which is low 70s for you. There is always something in flower no matter what time of year it is.

  3. Love your gallery! I went to a garden in the Nederland’s called Kasteeltuinen Arcen that was really cool too. I feel like posting all 300 pictures! Isn’t nature grand?
